Joan A. McGowan, Ph.D. is Director of the Musculoskeletal Diseases Branch, National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Program Director of Bone Diseases at NIAMS and Project Officer of the NIH Women's Health Initiative. She is the Senior Scientific Editor of the Surgeon General's Report on Bone Health and Osteoporosis.
Lawrence G. Raisz, MD is professor of medicine and director of the University of the Connecticut Center for Osteoporosis where he currently serves as the Interim Director of the Musculoskeletal Institute. He is on the Board of Trustees of the National Osteoporosis Foundation.
